Questions and Answers/Clarifications:

**Any questions and answers and/or clarifications that are posed during this bidding process will be added here**

(Updated 12/21/2022)

1.)
Question: When does the bidding window end?

Answer: The bidding window officially closes at 11:59pm (PST) on 1/18/2023. Bids after this date will not be accepted unless we receive written notice (email, letter, or fax) requesting an extension before 11:59pm (PST) on the closing date (1/18/2023). Those requesting extensions must have their bid submitted no later than 11:59pm (PST) 1/31/2023.

2.)
Question: Is email an acceptable form of submittal? Is email acceptable for submitting a request of extension of time?

Answer: Yes, email is an acceptable form of submittal in both instances.

3.)
Question: If possible I would like to request additional time to bid.

Answer: I have asked our E-Rate consultant to extend our bidding window to Jan 31, 2023, 11:59PM (PST) for both our Category 1 and Category 2 applications.

Also, please note, our Category 1 application is requesting network switches as well (provide connectivity for WAN links).

4.)
Question: So, there is no need to file an extension if needed?

Answer: If we extend for one vendor, we have to extend for all. So technically no, but it never hurts to have a direct request from you as well for our documentation.

The Jan 31, 2023, 11:59PM (PST) is the new deadline for submitting bids.

5.)
Question: Do you know what controller will be used for the ruckus access points? Here what the ruckus engineer told me and why they are asking:
Ruckus Support for APs is typically tied to the AP management license. These licenses would depend on the controller. I don't suppose these are for unleashed APs as the quantity is greater than what I would recommend. The APs are covered under a limited lifetime hardware warranty but there is an advance hardware replacement support that would quicken the RMA time. All software and phone support coverage would be covered under the controller AP management license unless it is unleashed.

Answer: We use SmartZone (currently version 5.1.2.0.302). These APs are replacing current Ruckus APs, so we are already licensed for the SmartZone and just need to extend support for the SmartZone AP License.

I think this is the purchase code: S41-0001-3LER
